Makeup Skincare Hair. What's on TV What to Watch. Empowerment Good News Horoscopes. Kirstie gave a glimpse at her reclaimed kitchen worktops with this photo of her son chopping tomatoes at home. The kitchen has wooden flooring with an antique patterned rug visible in the background. The mum-of-two said she was "desperate for a home cooked meal" after a few days away filming, sharing this photo from her dining table laid up with patterned tableware. Kirstie showed her organisational skills with a peek inside her cutlery drawer, which has her forks, knives and spoons separated and organised by size.
When Kirstie received a beautiful bunch of flowers from a friend, Kirstie couldn't resist sharing a photo on Instagram, showing her glass display cabinets filled with mugs and china in the background. We spy some clever storage in Kirstie's bedroom — a wardrobe that has been covered in the same green patterned wallpaper as the rest of the room, so it is concealed when the doors are closed. Kirstie appears to have an en suite bathroom that leads from her bedroom via double doors.
She has a bamboo shelving unit to store all her makeup and toiletries in wicker baskets, with a piece of wall art hanging overhead. The holiday home is let through firm Classic Cottages , who say they have had reservations for the retreat two years in advance. Despair not, though.
Visitors to Meadowgate can enjoy Sky television and parking for four cars, but while dogs are more than welcome, smokers are most certainly not! You better stub that ciggie out at the door then.
You'd expect Kirstie Allsopp's holiday house to be pretty close to perfect and, of course, it is. Meadowgate was a battered old farmhouse a short, winding hobble from Welcome Mouth Bay in North Devon and it had stood empty for 38 years before Kirstie swooped in and turned it into a Channel 4 makeover show.
The house itself, as you can see, is no showstopper but true to form Kirstie knew the value of its extraordinary location, less than half a mile from a beautiful, little known beach reached through picturesque National Trust woods.
For her show Homemade House Kirstie furnished the whole pad on a shoestring budget scouring junk shops and salvage yards to find such gems as the kitchen dresser, vintage roll top bath and antique furniture throughout.
She also met up with local craftspeople to relearn old-fashioned home-making skills and the house is a shrine to hand-made - cushions, curtains, handblown vases. It's pretty cool though, countrified without being too Cath Kidston, vintage without being too grannyish.
