Relic of Ulduar Hello everyone, I thought I'd give you a heads up on a great farming tip for the next patch. What am I talking about? Relics of Ulduar! Sons of Hodir rep is rather hard to get right now and when the patch is released, the Relics of Ulduar will surely go for alot of gold on the AH. If you haven't got my point yet, it's to farm alot of Relics of Ulduar and sell them on the AH when the patch hits or use them for yourself to gain Sons of Hodir rep.

They gain an enrage buff from time to time but get stunned afterwards exhaustion. Last edited by algeo; at PM. Reason: Typo A Statement B is true. B Statement A is false. Jchunx: "Damn! Helheim is the equivalent of hell. Niflheim has nothing to do with hell. Comment by when im in this area i still look like the blue women can any one tell me why. Comment by I'm hated with these guys, how do i get friendly?

Comment by Its on the first page of comments starts with a quest in k3. Comment by Well i have a problem Comment by OMFG I thought Wowhead was a help site If i wanted lore I would go to wowwiki Things i am looking for as this will be my first 80, and i am stumped as far the dailies for rep What lvl Req, What Req req. I mean Greek and Norse Mythology is cool and all On your own time, on a site where ppl agree to converse about it NOT a flipping help site It does me absolutely no good as far as my quests getting completed, when we are all talking about other topics I came here, only to find lore, but no helpfull info that i need for my quests TYvm if someone would be nice enough to reply Comment by This is definitly the easiest "non-dungeonable" faction in the entire game, you have several quest chains, over half a dozen dailys, a repeatable turn in quest and another repeatable quest:.

And still I here so many complain that this is impossible to grind rep with:. Comment by i have a problem. Comment by Just curious if anyone has done the math, from Friendly to Exalted turning in Relics of Ulduar only, no daily's, how many it would take? I havent done this quest before. Do you think it is because my Steamwheedle Cartel Rep is hated? Help please this is so irritating. Turned out that there's no reputation loss when killing him. So I guess you can kill them all and you won't lose any reputation.

Edit: Btw better don't do that. About 2 hours of work questing you can get the honored version of the enchants. Comment by Dun Niffelem is where you can get many dailies that boost your reputation.

If you do all the dailies you get around 78 gold. Note: New daily quests become available as your reputation gets higher with the Sons of Hodir. Comment by anyone else think that this faction should have a tabard? Comment by no Achiv for get exalted :. Comment by ShadowHazard So i did the quest thats supposed to start the chain for rep, but whenever i talk to Gretchen all she says is "Men -- can't live with them, can't live without them. Well you can Comment by I had done the quest line getting me to friendly some time in November and never went back again.

Taunka and HoV aren't even possible to get to exalted. I did some research and discovered it would take 22 days of boring, repetitive, sexual dailies to get exalted.

I took me around Relics of Ulduar to get from Friendly to Exalted. I purchased them on the AH for 1g each in stacks of for g. I can earn g in a day or two with minimal effort. MUCH better than doing dailies for 22 days. IMO it is better to just buy or farm relics than do quests for 22 days. Just thought I'd let the more impatient people know there is a better way of doing this grind than dailies. Comment by Sibiling Rivalry is not the quest for killing Fjorn It wasn't until then I realized that in my bag from the last quest an item dropped that began a quest called The Refiners Fire.

It's a blue object, click it, and you will receive the missing 22, reputation to give you Neutral rep, and opening up more quests so that you can become friendly. Good luck! Comment by Do you need a flying mount to gett to this place?

I looked around the mountain but i just could not find a road up there : Anyone who knows a way? Comment by retrofade After changing factions, you will need to fly back to Dun Niffelem and get the flight path again, regardless of your Sons of Hodir reputation. Comment by In patch 3. This increases your reputation with The Sons of Hodir by Comment by Does anyone know how to turn the costume off if you don't want to use it anymore?

Comment by toblayz Not entirely correct. This post is just to correct a minor fault and give a bit more information about the word and as he said "not to prove someone wrong".

Comment by As of patch 3. The Sons of Hodir Commendation Badge grants you reputation. Comment by what about if i m hated and done all the qs at storm peaks? Comment by Help! Comment by New! Taken from the 3. Comment by shaftoe New! Comment by Volcan As a little trivia, in Norway there is actually a glacial region named Jotunheimen eng.

The Jotunheim , obviously named after that Norse locale. Comment by If you get to friendly with the Sons but can't get any quests, go back to Thorim and grab Forging an Alliance. I stopped working on the Sons for a number of months but had friendly so I thought I did the whole chain. Turns out I missed one step. Comment by Im hated by the Sons of Hodir, but i did all the quests listen above, is thier any other way I can get my rep with them up? It consist of 42 quests around 27 is when Sons of Hodir become neutral but all 42 are part of Sons of Hodir.

I hope everyone enjoys this guide I put together to answer the question why can't I talk to the Sons of Hodir etc. Diametrically Opposed. Comment by cutlass As of patch 3. I am a Belf so Humans can expect a bit more Also the Hodir dailies now reward rep instead of the previously.

Comment by With 3. I've done every daily available to me at level 79, and I'm 7k rep off from Exalted because I also turned in Relics of Ulduar. It's very easy to get Exalted in one day, even before level 80, and I plan to do it just for bragging rights. If you can get a group for HoL and finish off the quest from that you'll get another rep, which is 1 less stack of 10 Relics of Ulduar that you need to turn in.

This rep grind is now a joke. Comment by LOL so what happens when U do delete the slag, is there a way of getting another? Comment by i went straight from hated to revered using the triumph badge reward rep booster, but it seems none of the map in storm peaks changed, and I can't find the Sons of Hodir quartermaster.

Am I missing a step or have i just threw away about triumph badges. Comment by Hard? You weren't part of Vanilla WoW I take it. This is nothing. Absolutely nothing lol. You get everything handed to you. All you have to do is fly around a get it. Comment by I used all comments on here as guide to get exalted. I managed to get from 0 - Exalted in 2. How I did it: 1. Run through the quest chain as posted earlier. That got me to Honored. Turn in Relics of Ulduar at the Quartermaster.

I had about 60 and bought another on AH for about g These turn ins gives Rep for every ten. Got me to exalted in about 15 minutes. Comment by Unlike the other phased quest chains like ebon blade , you don't have to redo all of the quests to unlock the sons of hodir dailies again after you faction change. You will need to get the flight path again, though. Comment by I have the same problem as the person above in his comments, i'm done with all the quests, there's no more dialogue with Thorim and i'm still sitting at hated.

Anyone else have this problem? Comment by I've discovered an item called "Slag covered metal" in my inventory and turning that in to Thorim got me to honored with the Sons of Hodir. Comment by i did all these quest and yet some how im hated by them and i cant get in friendly with them now.

Comment by impsy Do the quests that get you to honored, then go run a few heroics and spam hand-in hodir badges, tadah! Comment by The primary purpose of this faction is to provide PvE shoulder enchants. At honored, you can buy one of four enchants for 60g, and at exalted, you can get an upgrade for it for 80g. For whatever reason, the exalted ones are BoA while the honored ones are BoP - so, if you have another 80 alt, only one of your toons has to reach exalted to be able to use the enchants.

Like most factions, they offer a few blues that may be upgrades for pre-raiders. This is not an extremely tough faction to reach exalted with. Doing the dailies will give you a fair chunk of reputation, and they are fairly easy. So, effectively, a moderately wealthy player could get exalted with almost no effort by buying relics off of the AH. Comment by Added in patch 3. Comment by Not sure of what patch enabled this, but as of now rep grinding for this faction is no longer necessary for those of us who want the glyph for alts and already have a toon that's grinded the Hodir honor.

The glyphs are now bind on account. Comment by Lemogra well no one mentioned but Comment by The Sons of Hodir, recently got bought out. Comment by Montyburns as of 3. Comment by weaselkid This is a good way to easily, and quickly get exalted in the Songs of Hodir faction. Comment by TheSpanishInq This did not open up all of the daily quests. I followed these great instructions to get to Honoured with The Sons of Hodir , and now I'm at revered having done some dailies and hand-ins.

Following this chain returned the Anvil, opening up Hot and Cold. Returning the Armour to Thorim to complete the quest and going no further then opened up In Memoriam , which in turn leads to Blowing Hodir's Horn though strangely I needed to move out of Dun Niffelem and return for the horn to appear. Finally, speaking to Njormeld for the quest Forging a Head and completing it along with the very short followup will open up Polishing the Helm.

That should now be all of the dailies open for you Comment by Can I start on these quests before I get cold weather flying? Comment by From what i can tell, in 3. There are plenty of vrykul miners in each little offshoot cave inside the main mine, about miners each. On my shadowpriest I could do 15 or so pulls pet hour, and got tons of these.

Hope this helps! Comment by chaosking The mob with the highest and most accurate drop rate based on total number of kills are Brittle Revenant. They drop grey crystals as well as Crystallized Earth and they have a very quick spawn rate, rarely do I encounter a situation where there are none alive. If you have ming theres a bonus for you, each one will drop Geodesic Fragments which vendor for 22s each.

In my time grinding on them the average relics per hour is roughly Comment by If the the turn-in for rep is a repeatable quest, does that mean it can only be done once per day? That's the only way it makes any sense.

Comment by I see many people noting that in the 3. A few comments concerning the lack of mention in the patch notes were made in this thread via replies to posts but without clicking 'Show comment' I didn't see them. So, this is just a 'visible' heads up to those of you who may be saving these up for the 3. I won't believe it til I see it in the actual patch notes. For me as a naxx geared ret pally they die rather quickly s per kill and zero downtime.

I have farmed about of them in 2 days hours per day. Good luck with your farming :. Comment by If your one of those people who buys everything, this might be of use to you.

Hope that helps :. Comment by According to Bornakk, a blue in the WoW forums, Relics of Ulduar may remain soulbound after patch 3. So, while things could still change, that means you wouldn't be able to buy your rep with Sons of Hodir on the AH, farm relics to sell on the AH, or transfer relics to alts if you've been saving them. I wish they'd at least make it "Bind to Account" so you could transfer to an alt. Comment by Djuntas If you wanna grind relics of uldar the Forlorn mine as other people suggested sure are the way to go.

You will get tons of random vendor items, frostweave cloth and many.. And not to mention all mobs will have respwaned by the time you cleared the last "side way" in the end : I useally start at the Brunnhildar Village and go down that way clearing all mobs on sight.

Cant really renember the right number : And many greens pots vendor trash etc. Sell your "crap" at Warsmith sigfinna. That NPC is the cloest vendor and repair, right outside the mine in the first hub in the village btw. Comment by macromage As stated above, the Relics of Ulduar should become a repeatable "turnin" quest for The Sons of Hodir. He's in the centre of the Son's settlement. Comment by eskilajnen These are no longer soulbound on live 3.

Comment by No longer soulbound as of 3. Enjoy selling them if you're already exalted or passing them to an Alt. Comment by We are now able to turn 10 of these in at a time to Lillehoff at Dun Niffelem for reputation with The Sons of Hodir.

Comment by As a frostfire mage my favorite place to farm these was Valkyrion. I was critting nearly every spell and one shotting every mob I crit with frostfire bolt. This also made blizzard crit for a good amount when I could group some together. Really though any mage could have an easy time farming over there.

Comment by Actually, Exhausted Vrykul is a daily-related mob. It's the Captive Vrykul that are not used for a daily. Comment by Note, before I realized the people mass slaughtering these Vyrkul I was doing the regular quest, to much aggravation each of the tunnels had a different group mass AoE farming them.

I discovered this, however, because of it. You can still tap Exhausted Vyrkul for the daily as long as the rod wasn't already used on them. Let me repeat this. You run in, grab them all. As long as no-one used the daily rod on the E. Vyrkul another person can still use the one you are kill for the daily. So for those feeling guilty, just let the daily doer know this if you see one looking a tad bit morose.

Comment by If an engineer, the Librarians might be slightly prefered as you can "skin" them for parts. Comment by For those of you who would like to farm relics, but don't want to feel the wrath of people by killing daily-related mobs, I highly suggest Stormforged Raiders.

You'll have help from Earthen Defenders packs will faceroll the Raider you're on by knocking them back or slowing their movement speed and Dolomite Giants.

There's a vendor mailbox too! From my general experience, every two out of three dropped relics for me maybe even better however your luck may differ. Comment by xloc I can get about per hour avg in Frostgrip's Hollow.
